Speaker Profile: Siyan Zhan

Siyan Zhan serves as Dean, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Public Health, Peking University. She is also the Director of the Key Laboratory of Ministry of Education for Major Disease Epidemiology, Co-Director of the Clinical Epidemiology Research Center at Peking University Third Hospital (dual appointment), and Director of the Center for Smart Public Health Research at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Peking University. Her academic roles include Executive Director of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, Chair of the Pharmacoepidemiology Committee, Chair of the Epidemiology Branch of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, and membership in numerous other scholarly committees.

She holds editorial positions as Editor-in-Chief of the Chinese Journal of Pharmacoepidemiology, Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Chinese Journal of Epidemiology, Associate Editor of the Medical Sciences Section of Science Bulletin, and editorial board member for multiple domestic and international journals. Additionally, she is Chief Editor of the 7th and 8th Editions of the national unified textbook Epidemiology, Chief Editor of the 2nd and 3rd Editions of Clinical Epidemiology for Extended-Term Programs, and Co-Chief Editor of the 2nd Edition of Pharmacoepidemiology.

In recent years, she has undertaken multiple research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As first or corresponding author, she has published over 200 high-impact research papers in internationally renowned journals, including nearly 100 in Lancet Infectious Diseases, PLoS Medicine, and other top-tier publications, with over 5,700 cumulative citations. As the primary investigator, she has received numerous provincial and ministerial-level awards, including the 17th Wu Jieping-Paul Janssen Medical and Pharmaceutical Award (2016), Beijing Excellent Teacher (2017), and Beijing Advanced Individual in Combating the COVID-19 Pandemic (2020).
